Structural racism and its effects on health care. Personal project.
Dr. Rachel Hardeman has been researching this topic for a long time. However, she runs into the big problem that the work of antiracism may not be possible from within academia and at a predominantly white institution.
Some of her findings include that Black newborns are less likely to die when cared for by Black physicians, and that Black women who live in intensely policed neighborhoods are twice as likely to have preterm births than those residing in other areas.
